Jam Packed Weekend!

This past weekend, Matthew, Jaala, and I had a lot of fun!  Matthew is turning 26th this Wednesday, so we caved a got him a Wii for his big day.  We had a little too much fun playing it...Saturday we celebrated Jaala's, friend, Caitlin's first birthday.  Later in the evening, we headed to Fort Collins to hang out with some good friends of ours Mike, Susie, and Ryan Long.  On Sunday, Matthew and I had a date night, we did a little shopping, Brooklyn style pizza, and saw the fourth Indiana Jones Movie.  It was a date night needed and good company of course!  Hope you are all well!

Fresh Cut Grass

Today, Jaala and I went for a walk, to the park.  As we walked, we enjoyed the hot summer air and lovely sun.  On the way back from the park, we saw someone cutting their lawn.  The smell of Fresh Cut Grass, yummy...I love that SMELL.  It reminded me of my dad.  I stopped to think of him today, there were a few tears after smelling the grass.  Do smells ever remind you of a special person, place, or event?

One Year Pictures of Jaala Grace

Our friend, Allison, enjoys taking pictures, so we decided to take a couple of Jaala, for her birthday.  She did a really good job smiling, clapping, and having fun!  Enjoy!

 

More vistors...Oma, Opa, and Uncle Joshua

Recently we had more visitors, Oma, Opa, and Uncle Joshua from Germany.  They loved Jaala and while they were here, she even walked four steps.  Yes, Jaala is trying to walk...which is pretty exciting for everyone in the Baum household.  We are looking forward to the Barnes' Family Reunion (Matthew's mom side) in July, and we will be taking a road trip to good old Wisconsinland too.  Hopefully, we will be able to see you all this summer.  Also, we are heading to California in July, to see Grandma Baum, Great-Aunt Jan, and Aunt Mary Kay.  Wow, we are travelers this summer.  Love to all!  

Jaala also started sorting toys, she dumps toys from a bin, and puts them back.  She loves cleaning up already.  Jaala Grace also says several words:  mama, dada, wawa (water), uh-oh, and banana.

I can't believe our little daughter, Jaala Grace is a year old...these pictures tell us how fast they grow.  What a beautiful, wonderful, joyful, daughter the Lord has blessed us with.

G & G Flynn Came and Jaala's 1st Piggy Birthday Party

My mom and step dad came to visit last week.  We had a lot of fun.  We went to the Denver Zoo, had my cousins Graduation Ceremony and party, we also had the chance to see a movie.  What fun!  Don't forget all the fun shopping and playing.  Jaala really enjoyed Grandma and Grandpa. She loved talking to them (in her own language) and loved playing with them too.  

Recently Jaala started standing on her own, walking along furniture, and she also reads titles of books (Jaala language) and then begins reading the story to whomever may be around. We are enjoying our little Tootie and look forward to seeing you all this summer!

Jaala's 1st Birthday party was of course a pig theme...everything was a pig or pink.  We enjoyed cake and company.  A lot of Jaala's friends came, which was super fun!  Jaala's real birthday is on Tuesday, Matthew and I will celebrate with her.  I can't believe she is already a year old, time flies!!  Happy Birthday our sweet Jaala Grace!
